Terms & Conditions
Eating Free Coaching Programme Terms and Conditions
Welcome to Eating Free.
Recovery from food, eating, and body image challenges is not easy—but it is possible. This is why Eating Free was founded.
Our goal is to offer you meaningful support and guidance, and to work with you to move beyond eating difficulties and create an approach to food and self-care that supports your well-being.
Eating Free is not a quick-fix programme. We believe that when you invest time in building a healthier way to eat, live, and care for yourself—and when you understand that quick fixes will never support lasting change—you will discover food freedom. This, in turn, supports long-term well-being and ultimately, a more peaceful and productive life.
Recovery from an eating disorder takes time. It is not always easy. Eating Free coaching aims to provide a solid foundation for long-term recovery.
By signing up for or participating in any of the coaching programmes offered by Eating Free, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.
These are in place to ensure clarity, protect your rights and ours, and promote a safe and supportive environment for your healing and your Eating Free journey.
1. Purpose and Scope of the Eating Free Programme
Eating Free is a coaching and support service designed to help individuals improve their relationship with food, eating, weight, and body image. It is especially suited to people who:
- Struggle with food and body image issues.
- Have experienced repeated diet failures.
- Are dealing with disordered eating patterns, such as bingeing, restriction, compulsive eating, or bulimia.
- Are living with diabetes and facing food-related challenges or disordered eating patterns that negatively affect diabetes management.
Our approach is rooted in the key principles of Eating Free including evidence-informed strategies, lived experience and empathy.
Please note: Eating Free is not a substitute for medical, psychiatric, or psychological care.
2. Medical Disclaimer and Referral Policy
While we aim to support individuals across a wide range of eating-related struggles, some individuals may require more specialised care.
Please refer to our Medical Support and Healthcare Professional Referral Policy, available under the Medical Support tab, for more detail.
If your coach believes you may need medical advice or intervention, they will recommend that you consult a registered healthcare professional immediately.
Important: Acting on this recommendation is your responsibility. Eating Free is not responsible for follow-ups or arranging medical care on your behalf.
3. Client Responsibility and Risk Acknowledgement
By participating in an Eating Free coaching programme, you acknowledge that:
- You understand your Eating Free coach is not a healthcare professional.
- You are responsible for seeking medical support where necessary.
- Coaching is supportive in nature but may not be suitable if your health or safety is currently at risk.
- You take full responsibility for your decision to participate in the programme.
4. Session Attendance and Missed Sessions
- All coaching sessions must be paid in full upfront before the programme begins (whether for the once-off, four-week, or eight-week option).
- If you miss a session without giving at least 24 hours’ notice, you will not be refunded.
- One missed session per programme may be refunded if at least 24 hours’ notice is given in writing (via email or WhatsApp), minus a 5% administrative fee.
- If you are unable to complete the programme, you may request a partial refund, with 48-hours notice, also subject to a 5% admin fee.
5. Encouragement and Non-Judgmental Participation
We understand that transforming your relationship with food and your body can feel overwhelming.
- There is no pressure to speak or fully participate in any session. You will still receive compassionate support.
- Your coach has lived through similar challenges and understands the difficulty of your journey.
- We strongly encourage you to attend every session, as consistency is key to your progress. Your coach has recovered, and is passionate about helping others recover.
6. Refunds and Cancellations
- Full payment is required in advance for all coaching programmes.
- If you cancel your place at least 48 hours before the programme begins, you are eligible for a full refund minus a 5% admin fee.
- If you withdraw after the programme has started, a partial refund may be granted for unused sessions, again minus a 5% admin fee, and provided at least 48 hours’ notice is given in writing (email or WhatsApp).
- Refunds will be processed within 14 working days of confirmation.
7. Liability and Indemnity
By participating in the Eating Free programme, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the founder, coach, and any affiliates from liability for:
- Any outcomes resulting from not seeking appropriate medical or psychological care when advised
- Any decisions you make as a result of coaching that were not recommended or discussed with your Eating Free coach
8. Respectful Conduct
All sessions are conducted in a safe, confidential, and supportive space.
- We ask that you engage respectfully with yourself, your coach, and any participants (in the case of group sessions or once-off group coaching).
- Disruptive or harmful behaviour may lead to termination of your coaching relationship without a refund.
9. Changes to Terms
Eating Free reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on the website. Continued participation after updates are published implies acceptance of the revised terms.
